Hi! I am Maria Berbis

About me, I am a woman with a great passion for life. My contagious laughter and language fluency have led me to explore the world in unique ways. I was born in a city called Cáceres in the centre of Spain, but I moved to the paradise of the Canary Islands at the age of 13. Ever since I've surrounded myself with a mix of cultures. I quickly learned English and German, and a bit of French and Portuguese. I thrive when connecting with people from diverse cultures. I always dreamt of travelling to keep discovering. That is my passion number one. I lived in Norway for almost 3 years. This experience allowed me to learn another culture and a bit of a new language, among beautiful landscapes. I met the most incredible people. My second family, as I call them. A few years ago, my adventurous personality took me across the Atlantic to work on a cruise ship, where I embarked on the biggest cruise in the world. Living with people from over 60 nationalities, I've come to appreciate the richness of diversity. This time I was lucky enough to live even closer to another of my biggest passions, the sea. And my last biggest passion is my love for music and dancing. I find joy in rhythms that move the soul. There's nothing like getting lost in black music or surrendering to the beats of Latin dance on the floor. However, these are only the tip of the iceberg as my playlists are full of diverse melodies.

My journey into coding started in 2023. It all began with a significant career change, and I've discovered something I'm truly passionate about. Since then, I've immersed myself in several projects, refining my skills. This portfolio showcases the practical application of my knowledge, highlighting projects demonstrating my commitment to clean, responsive design.
Drawing from over 15 years in the hotel industry, where I served as Assistant Front Desk Manager with Duty Management responsibilities for at least 7 years, I bring a unique blend of customer-centric focus, organisational skills and attention to detail to my technical web developer role. This background enhances my ability to understand user's needs and deliver solutions.
Thanks to my language skills, I am well-equipped to collaborate in a global and diverse work environment. Despite my lack of experience, I'm very excited about entering the world of technology.
